Statement on Product Accessibility

101edu believes that active learning is a vital component of every student’s STEM education. As a company, we are striving to ensure that our product and digital platforms deliver an inclusive learning environment for all students, including those in need of accommodations or those with disabilities.

Current Support & Plans

Our product, Chem101, is currently offered for instructors and students on three digital platforms: a web application for desktops and laptops, a native iOS mobile application, and a native Android mobile application. 101edu is on track to achieving product compliance with the WCAG 2.0 Level AA Standards for student accounts on all three digital platforms by August 2021. By this date, we will also have available a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) that outlines our company’s accessibility practices for our institutional partners and customers.

Currently, Chem101 offers instructors the ability to assign students a variety of assessments that may be delivered in both timed and untimed environments. For all timed assessments, Chem101 can automatically set a percentage of extra time for any individual student who needs accommodations. Additionally, Chem101 now offers any instructor user to request a printed copy of a platform assignment for the purpose of accommodating student accessibility needs. Beyond 2021, we plan to continue to assess, audit, and enhance our product for compliance for instructors with the WCAG 2.0 Level AA Standards and students with WCAG 3.0 Standards. We remain committed to sharing a product accessibility roadmap that will provide expected dates of completion for various levels of future compliance. This web page will be updated with new information such as our VPAT and accessibility product roadmap when they become available.
